I leave this review as both a former camper, and now a parent of a new camper. I loved my time at Wapomeo as a camper… building friendship, skills, independence, and fun were all key points of camp that I look back on with the fondest of memories. I have two brothers who attended Ahmek, and one still working there too. I also have a sister who still works at Wapomeo! We have all cherished our times at both camps. My younger siblings completed 50 days canoe trips with great success. I myself have amazing memories & experiences from many Temagami trips. It’s truly an opportunity of a life time to spend your summers on Canoe lake at either of these camps. Now I find myself with an almost 7 year old who just finished her first Try Out Camper session and when I asked her how her time was on a scale of 1-10 she said “20 out of 10!”. She had the best time, can’t wait to go back, and apparently was smiling the whole time. She knows it is a bit of a family tradition but I explained to her that it doesn’t mean she has to go if she isn’t a fan of the experience. Seems like that won’t be an issue though! The communication leading up to camp has been detailed & regular. And following their social media channels may even grant you a little update on your camper too. Can’t wait to keep on with our TSC traditions as the years carry on :)

I have been coming to TSC since 2009 and been on staff since 2017. Truly a transformational experience that I can’t recommend highly enough to parents looking for a summer camp for their kids. The staff, location, programming, and tripping is outstanding and unbeatable.

Please do not sned your kids here unless they ask to be sent. I was forced to go by my parents who said i was going to have fun and it would be worth it. WORST MISTAKE EVER I SHOULD HAVE RUN AWAY FROM HOME. I went when 13 and it was the worst thing i ever did. Especially the girls camp there is nothing to do. The covid procedure is horrilbe i asked for some caugh medeicne and they made me quaratine in a cabin alone even testing negative for covid i had to wear a mask and still was very sick they did not try to help at all. The canoe trip is hell too. Very bad

It was a tough go for my son to get to camp this year. This was our last go at trying camp for him. We had decided that if it didn't go well we'd find something different. Since he came home from camp this summer he has changed in so many ways. Our usually anxious, scared and not-so-confident child is NONE of those things. He has come home from camp so much more confident, fighting us less on the small things and his negative spiral has, for now, not been back. From the moment he got off the bus he seemed to walk taller. I am so grateful for his staff and those who connected with him. His counsellor was amazing, I\His patience, personality and caring nature really had an impact on him. It is also super important to note that part of what he tells us that made a huge difference for him this year were the kids. He just felt they were a better fit for him and he just had a great time. We have been getting daily stories of his time with you. I can't thank you all enough and I hope the change him will remain throughout the year. I think it's safe to say he'll be back next year and I absolutely recommend this camp to other parents!!
