so much fun great food

We tried Onadoga this year as daughter wanted to go with friends. Was aghast at the horrible tents she was in and the unsafe top bunk bed she had when I took her there. She is thirteen so was in a tent. Raccoons came in each night and lots of mosquitoes too, although good thing it was last week of August so the bugs not so bad as could have been. Counsellors in her tent seemed just ok when I met them at drop off. I expect as it was last week of the summer, they were in wind down mode, but would hope that management would not let this happen. Food seemed low quality compared to other camps. Few veggies and fruits. Not much variety or quantity. This morning, the day of pick up, all my daughter got for breakfast was a medium sized muffin. She is athlete, so normally , her breakfast would be eggs and toast and fruit or oatmeal and fruit. Also while we were told the camp operated as singe sex, it turned out many more activities were done with the boys. I don't necessarily have an issue with this, but we should have received correct info. Next year, we will go back to Akomak - way better food, better cabins, and lake and counsellors and less $$ too.
